Our History
Since opening our doors in 1992, Edmundson Mechanical Services has grown from a small local heating and air company into one of South Central Indiana’s most trusted names in home comfort.
We began with a focus on residential new construction and geothermal systems, delivering high-efficiency comfort solutions to homeowners across the region. By the mid-90s, we had expanded into industrial HVAC work, growing our team to over a dozen skilled installers and service professionals.
When the local industrial market began shifting overseas, we made a deliberate choice - to double down on serving the people right here at home. We transitioned away from large-scale industrial projects and refocused on residential and light commercial service, repair, and replacement work. This move allowed us to build closer, longer-lasting relationships with our customers.
Over the years, we’ve expanded our expertise to include plumbing, electrical, and light remodeling services - all backed by the same commitment to quality, honesty, and customer satisfaction that’s been our foundation since day one.
Today, our close-knit team continues to serve the community with the same care, craftsmanship, and personal touch that started it all more than 30 years ago.

For Mark Edmundson, heating and cooling isn’t just a career - it’s a craft he’s been perfecting for decades.
Inspired by his father’s advice while working overseas in the oil industry, Mark set his sights on the HVAC and refrigeration field right after high school. Always drawn to mechanical work, he began at a small vocational school learning the basics, but he wanted more. That drive led him to Cincinnati Technical College, where he earned his associate degree in mechanical engineering, graduating cum laude and second in his class.
Mark spent the next eight years honing his skills on a wide range of projects in the Cincinnati area before returning to his Indiana roots in 1992 to start Edmundson Mechanical Services. From the beginning, his mission was clear: design and install energy-efficient systems that deliver consistent comfort, operate quietly, and perform exactly as promised.
More than 35 years later, that same dedication to quality, honesty, and customer care is at the heart of every project - and it’s why so many families in South Central Indiana trust Mark and his team for their home comfort needs
